Kings House, Barking

Client: Inner London Group

79 keyworker apartments on the site of a former working men’s club close to the town centre.

The building occupies a prominent position at the junction of North Street and Kings Road where it has seven residential floors above one level of parking. The scale reduces to four storeys on the front and rear wings to respect the scale and rights to light of the neighbouring flats.

The wings enclose a landscaped roof garden at first floor level for residents’ shared use and the apartments have balconies for private amenity space.

It is a steel framed Design and Build project with white rendered corner features and a combination of metal and terracotta rainscreen cladding.
